Gnarles Barkley - Who's Gonna Save My Soul? (Music Video)

We've all been there before, the dreaded breakup. It has been described with countless songs in the past, but they are all feeble attempts compared to what you are about to see.

This music video captures all of the emotions of the bitter event, and displays it in a way we can all relate to.

The Black Seeds

Holding it down for New Zealand, The Black Seeds are a 9 man dub factory. They have a very distinct atmospheric sound, best described as traditional reggae with the reverb & delay turned to 11 (yes, they go to 11).

With a new cd coming out on 8/11/08, "Solid Ground" marks 10 years of their existence. I got my hands on the new single "Slingshot" and didn't like it. If you want to give it a listen check out their myspace. To give them justice, I'm hooking you up with an older track of theirs "Heavy Mono E" from the '06 cd "Into the Dojo".

Saturated Chemicals

Roughly a year ago, The Chemical Brothers released their sub-par cd, We Are The Night. This compilation of nonsensical electronic noise managed to snag a Grammy in '07, beating Justice's revolutionary debut album, Cross. Poor Grammy judgment at it's finest.

Anyways, We Are The Night wasn't entirely full of unnecessary bleeps, sweeps and creeps. One track that really stood out was Saturate. Trippy polyrhythms, morphing synths & cymbal thrashin' goodness make this a must have. Get yours today.

Antler Darts: Rhetorical Mixtape

On a quest to share music in a new and exciting way, I concocted a mixtape of songs that ask rhetorical questions. We all know that when Haddaway asked what love is, he damn well knew the answer. These tracks range from sophisticated & smooth, middle 20th century jazz, to the rolling rhymes of the Jurassic 5.

For previewing purposes, I made a muxtape.

The Lone Eskimo

One day I was rummaging through my monstrous (12,000 mp3s and growing) music collection, and encountered a song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It has the typical chili peppers style and sound, but features a harpsichord which gives it a distinct edge. But the thing that really struck me was the chorus. Mean guitar strums, crashing cymbals, and the vocals of Anthony Kiedis to bring everything home. I feel like this song has missed the ears of the many people. It came off of the 2003 single, Fortune Faded. This is a chili pepper tune for the books, that didn't make them their paper.

Share it with your friends to spread the awesome.

and happy brithday, America.

RCRD LBL

Imagine a website where you can download music for free, and the artists get paid by corporate america. This is RCRD LBL (pronounced as "record label").

It is an ad supported website that churns out exclusive tunes, mainly for download and DRM free. Because of the vast range of genres and artists, it is easy to fall in love with what they have to offer.

I have been following this website since it's conception in nov of '07, and have grown to be a big fan. After nudging them a bit, I've become a summer intern. I am honored to be inside the belly of the beast, and on the cutting edge of new releases.

They are constantly pumping out new material, and it can be hard to keep up with, if you don't check the page daily. I've compiled a list of fresh cuts to send your way, to give the Antler Darts fans a nice taste of what RCRD LBL has to offer. I also want to thank everyone for their support, we are progressing faster than I would have ever imaged possible, and it is all due to our readers. Thanks.
